Derrynane House & Park
Located 3 km from our house this historic house and national Park should not be missed. Derrynane beach is one of the nicest in Ireland . Abbey Island is located on the beach and worth a visit. The Gardens of Derrynane House are beautiful and have a nature trail attached. An Ogham Stone is located at the start of the National Park. There is also a fairy wood which delights visitors of all ages.

Kerry Dark Sky Reserve
Caherdaniel is in the Kerry International Gold Tier Dark Sky Reserve. This means that on clear moonless nights the sky in this South West region of Ireland is simply stunning; with many more astronomical sights to be seen with the naked eye as can be seen.

Sea Based Activities
here are many sea based activities available. Sea trips, sea sports and kayaking. Trips to the Skelligs and the Kenmare coast. J Atlantic Irish Seaweed offers sea foraging walks/talks in the area.
The Skelligs
A trip to the Skellig Islands is a highlight of a visit to the Skellig Coast. These days it needs to be booked in advance but if you cannot land many trips sail around the Islands and a drive around the Skellig Ring offers a coastal view of them.
Walking and Hiking Kerry
We are located one kilometer from the Kerry way walking path and offer ours walkers drying facilities if the weather is less than sunny! There are a number of other wonderful walks in the area including the Derrynane Mass Path,. Base yourself here and explore the beauty and history of South West Kerry. We can also put you in touch with local guides if you wish to explore the local area or forage on the seashore.
